Full Description:
Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) is a 200-bed pediatric hospital attached to Long Island Jewish Medical Center. CCMC is the largest Level I pediatric trauma center in New York as designated by the American College of Surgeons and has earned top 40 national rankings for exceptional care in nine pediatric specialties – the most in the New York area – according to US News & World Report’s 2020 Best Children’s Hospitals. In addition, CCMC has recently been recognized for its excellence in pediatric regional anesthesia. We are very excited to have 8 brand new, state of the art operating rooms scheduled to open in 2022.
Case Mix @ LIJ: General, Ortho, GYN, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, OMFS. Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiac. 9,000 OB deliveries
Job Details & Perks!
% of Pediatric:
• 75% pediatric/25% adult
Call schedule:
• 3 24-hour calls per month, inclusive of weekdays and weekends
Post days off:
• Guaranteed immediate post call day off, possible second post call day off or additional compensation
In-house call:
• 24-hour call is in house

$25K Ped stipend annually

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of Activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious ad/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a Physician
