An anesthesiologist may the "Medical Director" of an anesthesia group but not be physically at the facility where anesthesia services are performed. Although that anesthesiologist is a Medical Director, he would not be "medically directing" the CRNAs. The anesthesiologist may be corporate Medical Director who is available for consultation and policy decisions.
